Hi Bloggers,

Blogging was a new experience for us and it was so easy to read everyone's blogs. (Much better than emailing).

Our healthy changes are
* trying to cut out bad snacks and only have them for special occasions.
* eating fruit as a snack
* choosing water instead of fizzy drinks or fruit juice
* walk to school with friends
* no honey on Weetbix
* Playstation in the morning and playing outside in afternoon
* joining sporting groups like summer soccer, little aths, cricket, basketball, netball, dance and swimming.

Highlights
* Reading "SGT", which was fun-ee, with my friends
* Posting to the blog
* Reading about what other schools think and do
* Some of the other sports reports were really funny
* Enjoyed co-operating together

Bye from,
Glenhavensprinters.

Nian the Chinese dragon and 4/5M wrap up:

Staying healthy
Eat more fruit; eat more vegetables; do swimming (x2); get up and do things at lunchtime, instead of sitting around; exercise - go for jogs; run with the dog around Werrington Lakes; and walk to school - also saves on petrol.

Skills we've learnt by book rapping
Finding Jackie French's deliberate mistakes improves our knowledge of how to use humour in our writing; how to make stories funny; bum leaves are funny; sometimes articles are linked across the double page and the readers have to do the work to link them up; headings and clever titles make us want to read the stories; factual knowledge of dragons helped us to make jokes about them.

Our highlights of the rap
* It was fun learning new things.
* Reading "The Shaggy Gully Times" (x2).
* Making up puns for the joke headlines (x3).
* Working together as a team.

Thanks for the great rapping everyone.

Hello Friends!!

Things we have enjoyed about this book rap:
1. Learning about the Olympics.
2. Reading what other schools had to say.
3. Learning about puns and reading The Shaggy Gully Times.
4. Learning about newspaper articles.
5. Reading a book with the word ‘POO’ in it.
6. Being the funniest school in the whole book rap.

Things we have learnt from the book rap:
1. In gymnastics, the girls are usually younger because they need to be flexible.
2. In ancient Olympics women were not allowed to watch the Olympic games, if they did they would be killed!!
3. How to post to a blog.
4.That it’s good to be fit and eat healthy foods, otherwise you will end up like a fattyboombardda, which is not cool!
5. It is important to keep our mouth healthy by brushing our teeth twice a day.

Hi everyone,

This is Phil the frog and SCHC wrapping up the rap some more, with Mrs Mead (who missed most of the fun)!

We resolve to get fitter by:
Starting to walk again in the mornings (in winter it was too cold and dark); using weights to improve arm muscles; running on weekends to become as fast as Usain Bolt (x2); do shotput to get stronger; signing up for summer cricket; and going bike riding to get ready for winter soccer.

To improve our writing skills, we:
Used our brains to find funny puns in words (like "tyre" and "tire"); thought about Phil the frog's body, to get ideas about Blake long jumping; put our writing on the blog to share it with students at other schools; thought about our audience; chose different topics to write about (memories, the future, dreams); used our imagination; and wrote fiction and non fiction texts.

Our highlights of the rap were:
Talking about Olympic sports together; watching swimming; watching weightlifting on TV; watching wheelchair basketball (murderball) at the Paralympics; writing information texts for the rap; and watching the vision impaired swimming at the Paralympics.

Thank you for reading our rap responses.

From Phil the frog and SCHC,
Penrith PS

Hi everyone,

This is Selby the talking dog with 4W's rap wrap up:

Our changes for a healthy life:
Trying new fruit (passionfruit, watermelon); cutting out on junk food, hot chips and oil (x3); going across to the oval more; running more; playing football every day; rollerblading at Penrith Lakes; and combining yukky vegetables with foods I like, such as Chunky Beef Soup or Dinner Winner.

Skills we have developed by writing sports articles:
Using words with two meanings to make puns (x2); using humour to make our writing funnier; using interesting verbs, adverbs and adjectives (x2); making our writing sound dramatic; using CAPITALS in the middle of a sentence for emphasis; using our brains; and checking out what other schools did in previous raps.

Our highlights of this rap:
Having fun; enjoying the rap responses from other classes; doing fun things; finding funny jokes in "The Shaggy Gully Times"; not doing regular class work - this rap did not feel like work, but we were still learning heaps; and looking on the computer for the latest Olympic news.

From Selby and 4W @ Penrith PS

To Duncan Ball and Dr & Mrs Trifle: Selby is ready to come home to Bogusville now. Thank you for letting him help us with the rap.

Changes to our healthy lifestyle:
Gymnastics (x2); eating more fruit - bananas; eating vegetables - zucchinis; drinking more water; swimming; joining a baseball team; running (x2).

New skills in writing sports articles include:

This is the famous Tammy Tortoise of Shaggy Gully with 3H Maths' rap wrap up:

Changes to our healthy lifestyle:
Doing more running (x2); eating more fruit - pears and strawberries; using little dumbells; making pasta with Dad; riding my bike; eating vegetables I used to hate - such as pumpkin, carrots, corn and minted peas; and playing outside more.

New skills in writing sports articles include:
Headlines with funny jokes; using humour throughout the article; learning about important topics I did not understand, such as cystic fibrosis; learning how to make jokes with words.

Highlights of this rap were:
Having fun with writing; reading "The Shaggy Gully Times"; having toy animal mascots as reporters; finding the jokes in "The Shaggy Gully Times"; writing in small groups is good for people who don't like writing by themselves; Caitlyn's funny jokes; Josiah's funny jokes; bum leaves; sharing and helping each other to do our work.

Thanks for the raps!
